Hong Kong stocks elevated in the morning. HSI escalated 224 points, or 1.2%, to 18,538 at the half-day. HSCEI rose 105 points or 1.6% to 6,561. HSTECH advanced 74 points or 1.9% to 3,946. Half-day turnover totalled $69.41 billion. TRACKER FUND (02800.HK) advanced 1.5% to $18.69, with half-day turnover of nearly $8.5 billion.

Today is the ex-dividend date of HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK). Its share price elevated 0.7% to $68.4. HKEX (00388.HK) and AIA (01299.HK) inclined 1.5% and 2%. Chinese insurers PING AN (02318.HK), CHINA TAIPING (00966.HK), PICC P&C (02328.HK), CPIC (02601.HK) and ZA ONLINE (06060.HK) ascended 2.9% to 4.1%.

Chinese property stocks were boosted by Hangzhou's complete lifting of housing purchase restrictions and free household registration for home buyers. SHIMAO GROUP (00813.HK) skyrocketed 42%, while CIFI HOLD GP (00884.HK), KWG GROUP (01813.HK), SUNAC (01918.HK), SINO-OCEAN GP (03377.HK) and AGILE GROUP (03383.HK) soared 14% to 16%. CHINA JINMAO (00817.HK), R&F PROPERTIES (02777.HK) and CHINA VANKE (02202.HK) surged 7.7% to 9.8%, while LONGFOR GROUP (00960.HK) and GREENTOWN CHINA (03900.HK) hiked 5.7% and 6.5%. Property manager CG SERVICES (06098.HK) also rallied 5.7%.

Domestic demand and consumer stocks advanced. TSINGTAO BREW (00168.HK), CHINA RES BEER (00291.HK), LI NING (02331.HK), CTG DUTY-FREE (01880.HK) and MAOYAN ENT (01896.HK) inclined 3% to 3.7%. XIABUXIABU (00520.HK), XTEP INT'L (01368.HK) and MNSO (09896.HK) lifted more than 5%. Car stocks GWMOTOR (02333.HK) and DONGFENG GROUP (00489.HK) mounted 4.1% and 3.2%.

BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK), Q TECH (01478.HK) and SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) rallied 5.3% to 6.5% after Apple announced new iPads.

Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) surged 5.1% and 8.8% after the US withdrew licences to export chips to Huawei, while PC maker LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) ascended 6.3%. In other tech stocks, BABA-SW (09988.HK) climbed 0.5%, TENCENT (00700.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) increased 1.2% to 2%, and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) inclined 2.7%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) escalated 4.3%.

Pharmaceutical stocks SINO BIOPHARM (01177.HK), WUXI BIO (02269.HK), PHARMARON (03759.HK), CHINARES PHARMA (03320.HK) and GENSCRIPT BIO (01548.HK) escalated more than 4%, while BEIGENE (06160.HK) and CANSINOBIO (06185.HK) mounted more than 5%.

The Baltic Dry Index lifted for the fifth consecutive time. OOIL (00316.HK) and COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK) rallied 5.4% and 6.6%, while PACIFIC BASIN (02343.HK) also advanced 5%.
