<H Shrs>HSI Lifts 223 pts at Close, Amid Rise of CN Property & Consumer Stocks; LENOVO GROUP Soars ~9%

Hong Kong stocks ascended today. HSI rose 223 points or 1.2% to close at 18,537. HSCEI elevated 103 points or 1.6% to close at 6,560. HSTECH advanced 75 points or 1.9% to close at 3,947. Total turnover for the day was $123.684 billion.

Chinese property stocks were boosted by Hangzhou's complete lifting of housing purchase restrictions. SHIMAO GROUP (00813.HK) speculated 33% higher, while CIFI HOLD GP (00884.HK), KWG GROUP (01813.HK) and AGILE GROUP (03383.HK) rocketed 13% to 16%. R&F PROPERTIES (02777.HK), SUNAC (01918.HK) and SINO-OCEAN GP (03377.HK) surged 8.7% to 10%, while CHINA JINMAO (00817.HK) and CHINA VANKE (02202.HK) hiked 4.6% and 5.5%. Property management company CG SERVICES (06098.HK) also rose 4.4%.

Domestic demand and consumer spending performed well. XTEP INT'L (01368.HK) spiked 7.6%, as LI NING (02331.HK), CHINA RES BEER (00291.HK), XIABUXIABU (00520.HK) and MNSO (09896.HK) escalated 4.9% to 5.9%. BUD APAC (01876.HK) and MAOYAN ENT (01896.HK) elevated 4% and 3.7%.

Auto stocks GWMOTOR (02333.HK) rose 4.9%. Apple announced new iPads, and BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK) soared 9.2%, while Q TECH (01478.HK) and SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) hiked 5.5% and 6%.

Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) rallied 4.7% and 8.8% after the US withdrew licences to export chips to Huawei. PC maker LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) elevated 8.7%

In other tech stocks, BABA-SW (09988.HK) lifted 0.9%, TENCENT (00700.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) added 2% to 2.3%, MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) increased 3.9%, while JD-SW (09618.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) climbed 1% and 1.5%. SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) ascended 2.8%, as KINGDEE INT'L (00268.HK), ALI HEALTH (00241.HK), PA GOODDOCTOR (01833.HK), JD HEALTH (06618.HK), KINGSOFT CLOUD (03896.HK) and WEIMOB INC (02013.HK) advanced 3.6% to 5.2%.

TRACKER FUND (02800.HK) inclined 1.4% to $18.67, with turnover of over $13.2 billion for the day. Today is the ex-dividend date of HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK), and its shares closed down 0.3% to $67.7. HKEX (00388.HK) and AIA (01299.HK) lifted 2.9% and 2.5%. Mainland insurers PING AN (02318.HK) and PICC P&C (02328.HK) elevated more than 2%, while ZA ONLINE (06060.HK) mounted 4.4%.

Baltic Dry Index rose for the fifth straight day. OOIL (00316.HK) and COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK) hiked more than 6%, while PACIFIC BASIN (02343.HK) lifted 5.3%.
